2010 Summer Nursery Contest Winner

Our 1st ever Nursery Contest has come to a close and after a great deal of deliberation, Moms to be and More has declared a winner.

We scored each of the entries in 5 categories: Theme, Use of Colour, Furniture, Accessories, and Creativity. The race was close, but one in particular stood out.

Congratulations to Karl and Pauline for their entry "Naomi Eve's Nursery"

What first struck us about Naomi Eve's Nursery is how wonderfully personal and soothing it feels. A great mix of collected items with beautiful Oeuf Sparrow furniture and whimsical wall decal from ADZIF complete the look.

Some other honorable mentions....

Steve and Stephanie for their entry "Sophia's Alphabet Nursery"

Here's what Stephanie had to say: "We purchased our end table, dresser, mattress, crib and armoire from Mom's to be! All of the wall decor I designed and created myself, including her barrette holder and barrettes. We have a custom alphabet trim that perimeter's the room, which will be used as a learning tool from when she's a toddler. The colours in the wall decor that spells her name match the alphabets that circle the room. Her wall decor above her crib matches the bedding. It says C is for Cherish and L is for Love. Her other one says S is for Sophia. This is how we tied in the alphabets to her bedding. A ton of work, but so worth it :)"

Laura and Jonah for their entry "Baby Noah's Room"

Here's what Laura had to say:  "Our hardwood floors were pretty much the starting point. They were the inspiration from what we chose for the room to what we've done with the room. Both my husband and I knew that we wanted a neutral wall colour and let the art on the wall do the talking regardless whether we were gonna have a girl or a boy. Seeing as our nursery is still not completely finished, we like what we've done so far and our son seems to be enjoying it quite a bit, so I guess we got his stamp of approval."

Thanks to everyone who entered; we were amazed with the creativity and thoughtfulness of each entry!
