This 1.5 hour presentation will introduce parents to:
- Understanding your child's temperament traits and developing routines that resonance with your child's personality
- Reflective listening to allow children to express feelings (all feelings need to be accepted, some actions need to be limited.)
- Setting limits and following through without reminding, nagging or scolding
- Hosted by Pamela Smith-Loeters, Parent educator, and mother of 4, from Zen Beginnings
- $25 per person.
- Follow up 2 week course offered at Zen Beginnings for further coaching.
- Click here: http://www.zenbeginnings.com/ for more information on Zen Beginnings
- Receive a $10 Moms to be and More coupon for attending.
“Many years ago I was attending university while parenting a 2 year old daughter. I was often embroiled in power struggles with her and remember saying to myself "I can't believe I am in university but I am arguing with a 2 year old!" I was desperate to find effective alternatives to yelling and spanking. All of the psychology courses taught me many theories but nothing practical to use. I took my first parenting course 21 years ago that used the book "How to Talk so Kids will Listen and Listen so Kids will Talk". The tone of the book is based on the teachings of Alfred Adler. Adlerian psychology can be found in many books today that use positive discipline methods. I was hooked. I took more classes, read many more books, and that eventually led to me to facilitating courses. Being an "expert" parent educator has never been my goal. Encouraging the development of effective parenting in others has become my goal.” – Pamela Smith-Loeters.
