Cosco car seats commonly referred to as the Eddie Bauer seat are basically the same item. It is the company Cosco that manufactures the fabulous Alpha Omega 3 in 1 car seat, The Cosco company also holds the right to use the Eddie Bauer name and will place it on certain fabric options of their products (this is always confusing to our clients as it appears to be separate products by different companies). Lets talk about the Alpha Omega first. This product is rated from 5-80lbs.It can be used with newborn's if you chose, in the rear facing mode up to 30lbs. It is not commonly used for the newborn stage as it is not convenient to extract this bulky and heavy seat and there is no possibility of attaching to a stroller for convenience so this is the reason for purchasing the bucket seat. It is commonly used when your child outgrows the bucket and then needs a larger unit. At this stage the Alpha omega is ideal. This seat will now take your child right through to the final boostering stage. When your infant is less then 1year and under 22lbs this unit will be in stalled in the rear facing position and as he grows past these points we can move it into the forward facing position which is where it will stay for the full duration of its usage. Cosco also provides you with a 2 in 1 that starts at 22lbs and ends as a booster also. Sometimes when a new baby arrives it is easier to buy this 2 in 1 for the older child so the other seats can be passed down.
