BEDDING
The most controversial piece is the bedding! At Moms to be…and More we always advise that you do what you are comfortable with (this follows true in every section of our store). The controversy that surrounds bumper pads (which automatically come in most bedding sets) is that they are not even needed at the baby stage. Bumpers are made for the older stages, when they are useful for preventing rolling munchkins from getting hands and feet caught in between crib bars. They are physically unable to even do this trick until 4 to 6 months old. The decision is split between the following options-Buy a full bedding set and use the skirt and sheets until the baby is older, then utilize everything else as a set (bumpers and comforter) In the meantime you can use the quilt as a throw over the back of your glider to keep your shoulders warm during evening “meals”, or simply bring the chair into the rooms theme. Your second option is to buy separates- a skirt and several sheets to start with and then add pieces later, as desired. The choice is yours and at Moms to be…and More we cater to all of these options

So much to choose from, where do you start? If you don’t already have a colour scheme in mind, you will need to make one decision. Are you going to have a gender specific, or gender-neutral nursery one? Gender-neutral nurseries are great for those who are waiting to find out the sex of the baby or those who want the bedding to last for another child. Gender-neutral nurseries are often in yellow, green, beige and other neutral colours. If you know the sex of the baby and are choosing a boy or girl specific nursery, then most of the decision is already made. But don’t limit yourself to just pastels – pink can range from blush to fuchsia and blue ranges from sky to navy.

Once you have a colour scheme, it’s time to decide on a look. The furniture you’ve chosen, the room itself or your own preferences will all go into suggesting preferences your room’s look. Looks can be a theme room around frogs, flowers or ducks or it can be contemporary modern designs. In our second floor furnishings showroom you will find catalogues, fabric swatches and helpful staff to help you make your decisions. So bring you paint chips, wood chips and fabrics find a bedding set you and your baby will love. At Moms to be…and More we strive to bring theme rooms, contemporary designs and subtle combinations of each together by taking a carefully chosen handful of bedding manufacturers to offer you. We have catalogues displayed and priced out so you can see a more complete room appeal and many sets are available to see and touch at the same time. Our lineup consists of Dwell, Lambs and Ivy, Bebe Confort, Something Extra and JJ Cole. This collection of companies allows for hundreds of options and staffs are always on hand to help you make decisions.

KJ’s Tip – Try to limit your colour combination to 3 colours. It makes it easier to keep it clean and interesting. Too much colour can look messy & unorganized
