TODDLER FEEDING
Lets get ready for some serious feeding folks. The solid food phase is a messy phase so some spill control is what we are gunning for. All our toddler-feeding supplies are BPA free so there are no worries in that department. This program demands some new items to make mealtime enjoyable for everyone.
If your little one is moving out of the highchair you will probably need a booster. Sitting little ones directly on the chair tends to leave them too low for socialising at the table and this is something that they need to practice too. The booster will put them at a comfortable height for everything. We have a selection of boosters offering variations of styles, sizes, and portability options as well as some options with a removable tray or clip on boosters.
Bibs are a must otherwise you will be doubling up on laundry and no one wants to do that. Bibs are offered in many sizes and some with sleeves. When the child is small it is okay to use bibs made of absorbent materials but as they grow the mess is bigger and a waterproof bib is ideal. Bowl and utensil options are endless. Bowls with lids are a handy option for storage and travelling. Many bowls are available with suction, which guarantees no UFO activity. If you move to a plate for the older kids you may want to get something like the Skip Hop unit which has separate sections to keep food groups apart as well as coming with its own utensils. Spoons should always be soft as little ones are not always careful and will poke their faces on a regular bases or hit those sore teething gums .Be careful offering them a fork for the same reasons especially at the beginning of the program when its a bit wild (and obviously no knives!) As far as cups the sippy cup will be in play for quite a while and a small wide based training cup can be introduced at a point were you feel they will not be spilling as much. To keep eating areas clean there are place mats that turn into play areas (Stokke) as well as units that offer a spill catcher (Kiddopotamus). If you want to protect the floor below the high chair try a splat mat to contain the extras.

Try a few items until you find the pieces that work into your program before you stock up with all of these feeding items that can clutter up the cupboards super fast if you are not careful. Once you find what works for you stock up and enjoy this very fun stage.
